Katherine felt bad for Damon. The vampire was the subject of this vampires attention for the night. What could be worse than that for him? Katherine offered a shrug at her own thoughts. Seriously, she wasn't thinking that she would make Damons life all the more miserable at the moment. She could make it brighter. Make him smile and grin with joy at her return to Mystic Falls. Yeah, right.
Anyhow, she had slipped inside the Salvatore home and glanced around. You would think they would keep the doors locked. With all that has happened in the past, it would be only the wisest thing to do. Katherine closed the door in her wake as silently as she could while she focused her hearing on listening for any sounds that may be coming from the houses confines. Was anyone home? It seemed to her that no one was home.
But you never knew with Damon. He could have some company over..Some unknowing youth of a woman to fill his desires. He was the epitomy of a male slut. It was Damon after all. Satisfied that she heard no sounds, for she didn't want to have to kill some woman touching Damon, she headed off towards the living room and once inside, she dropped her purse onto the couch. Katherine spun around and as she came to a stop in her twist, she grinned. "Honey, I'm home. Where is my welcome back kiss!" Wasn't she just the bottle of amusement?
Katherine headed over to the small bar that was in the room and rummaged through the cabinets to look at what liquor was left for her to have her hands over. Hmmm, there was vodka, rum, whiskey, and several others to chose from. This made Kat smile. At least the Salvatore brother kept the drinks handy. Couldn't have a private little party without the proper refreshments now, could you?
She went on, preparing herself a rum and coke and then moved back to the couch. Lowering to sit, Kat brought the glass up to her lips while she scanned the coffee table. What was worth interest on the thing? She moved her free hand through the magazines that were scattered across the surface.

The Salvatore boarding house only contained awful memories for Damon. It had never been a happy place when he was growing up here and come to think of it, it had not exactly been one in recent years either. Now it was worse because his younger brother wasn't brooding around the place like Damon had come to expect from him. He couldn't do that when he was six feet under, bitten by Tyler Lockwood and then succumbed to the sickness, all because Katherine hadn't been able to uphold her end of the deal. He was making an effort to stay as far away as he possible could from the place, away from the memories of the last moments of his brother's life.
Occasionally, however, he did have to go back there. On nights like tonight, where there was a lack of willing girls who would take him back to his apartment and entertain him. Or anything to do really. Tonight hadn't been entertaining enough, so he opened the door to the disgusting boarding house and figured that he would make himself an alcoholic concoction to drink away the pain of his brother's death and the blood lust. Alcohol that belonged to his father was probably still in the cellar somewhere, waiting to be cracked open after aging for two hundred years.
He made it to the bar and had his hand tightly clasped around a glass in his hand when the door opened. Barely glancing up over the top of his glass, Damon waited to see who it was. Not many people would have the audacity to walk into the estate of the founding family without a warning, which was why he tended to leave the door unlocked.
That dulcet voice was one he would never forget and one that infuriated him by the sound of it.
"Katherine," He responded dryly. "What a pleasure to see you."
He was contemplating the best way to mutilate her body when she wandered over to the liquor cabinet, and he practically growled. She wasn't someone he could easily stop however, and therefore he gave up when she finally grabbed something to drink and made her home on the leather sofa.
"What are you still doing in Mystic Falls? Considering that there is about one hundred grieving citizens who, given the chance would murder you right now."
He had exaggerated the number a little. The town itself thought that Stefan had died in a tragic sickness, which was only slightly true. Fact of the matter was that he could have been saved, and he hadn't been.

Katherine watched as Damon went over and fixed himself a drink. For as long as she knew Damon, he wasn't one to ever pass up a drink was he? Did he think it was a way or some ill fated attempt to make him forget his past and all the miseries within it? She lifted a brow up slightly. "Ah, so you do wan't a toast after all...to welcome me home." With that, Kat rose up and moved to him. "How about a toast of....to new beginnings?" Yeah, that sounded fine to the bitch Katherine.
She reached out with her glass to tap his in a sarcastic fashion and then took a swallow from her own glass. After swallowing, she rolled her eyes. " You always were the whiner of the two." The two meaning Stefan and Damon. "The drastic one. The one to over do situations." She turned and moved back to the sofa and sat down on it.
When he mentioned the grieving city of Mystic Falls, and how they wanted to kill her, she just smiled a tad. She brought up the glass in mock. " Even you, I thought could come up with a better line than that Damon. " Between Damon and Klaus, she couldn't figure out for the life of her, why no one was happy to have her back home. It was party time in Katherines book. Time to cause more problems. Cause more turmoil. After all, wasn't that what Kat did best? Granted the few times she did try to be all helpful, it was to suit herself.
"I've come home to see you Damon. Now there is nothing stopping you from having the love of your life. Me. " She laughed. Wasn't it true so long ago, he would of done anything to be with her? Yeah, lets rehash the messed up bond the two had. "Now, with Stefan gone, you can do as you want. We can do as we want."

Damon had once loved Katherine with all of his heart. He had doted on her, he would have done anything for her, but that lust and love had turned into rage rather quickly, and now it was red hot fury. At the moment he couldn't see her face straight, and his hand tightened on his glass of alcohol, and he deeply considered slamming the bottle of scotch into her preppy little face. But he liked his alcohol, and the relish of making her body bleed with glass momentarily would not be as great as the intoxication was. No matter how much he had grown to abhor her, it wouldn't be worth it.
That was the only lasting message that Stefan had left with him.
"Over my brother's dead body," Damon responded, swirling his glass and looking up at her underneath his black eyelashes.
"Oh wait, you already took care of that."
Damon did not deign to answer her at that point, simply downing some of the scotch and sighing as it took care some of the constant blood lust that vampires had to suffer with. She was right, from a third party perspective, Damon had always thought things over to the point of overconsumption but it wasn't as if he looked at his own flaws in a hand mirror.
"I'm saving the other lines for later," He said with a wink, sitting down on the arm of the country.
"No, we can't," Damon said, shaking his head and glaring down at her on the other end of the couch.
"Want to know why, my dear little Katherine? Because I sold my soul for that son of a bitch, Klaus in order for you to bring the cure to Stefan," He growled, pointing a finger at his own chest when he talked about his soul.
"You didn't hold up your bargain."
