[/blockquote][/blockquote][/justify]NAME|| Benjamin Grant Carrington
NICKNAMES|| Ben, Benny
AGE/BIRTHDAY|| 25, June 5, 1987
GENDER/ORIENTATION|| Male/Bisexual

CANON|| Nope xD
FACE CLAIM|| Benedict Cumberbatch
HAIR COLOR|| Light Brown
EYE COLOR|| Blue/Green (changes depending on mood)
ANIMAL COLOR|| Pitch Black (Not currently applicable)

BUILD||Standing at exactly 6'0" and weighing only 157lbs, Benjamin would be considered extremely thin by anyone who happened to know him. Despite the fact that he eats like a horse half the time, it's practically impossible for him to gain weight. Truthfully, the only reason that he weighs as much as he does is because he possesses a fair bit of corded, compact muscle. Though he doesn't look it, he's quite strong and more than capable of handling himself in a fight.
STYLE||Oddly enough, Benjamin doesn't really have a particular style. Growing up an orphan, he learned from an early age to have a very humble attitude where material possessions are concerned. However, he wasn't raised to have absolutely no fashion sense either. Because of this, he's not really opposed to clothes in general but he does have a preference to what looks good on him. Longer coats accentuate his tall frame and darker shades help to bring out his ivory skin and prominent cheekbones so both are items he likes. As said before though, he's not particularly picky.
DISTINGUISHING FEATURES||Benjamin has never been one to believe in tattoos and piercings and so does not possess a single mark on his entire body that isn't entirely natural. The only real mark that he possesses that might be considered distinguishing is a scar that he's had for as long as he can remember. It runs from the curve of his left hip to just below his belly button and, while he can't for the life of him remember what caused it, he feels as though it means something. He just can't figure out what.
PERSONALITY||Benny is something of a conundrum where his personality is concerned, to say the least. Having always been relatively quiet(even as a child), he tends to not really speak unless spoken to first. It's not that he doesn't enjoy the company of others, but his thoughts are always something that he's considered sacred and he's not exactly the type to share. Fiercely loyal, he'll do literally anything for those that he cares about. However, caring doesn't come easily to Benjamin as his past hasn't ever really provided him with someone to care for. Despite the fact that he's extremely awkward socially and rarely says much when around others, he does possess a very strong, if silent presence. A huge fan of the arts, the subject of theatre is one of the few he'll discuss without fear of what others might think of his opinions. Having never really 'fit in' anywhere, the truth is that he wants more than anything to simply find a place where he belongs; a purpose for his otherwise purposeless life.

HISTORY||Born just after his older sister Brianna on June 5, 1987 to Marilyn and Preston Carrington, Benjamin Grant Carrington was rather small despite the fact that he was full term. Despite being 22 inches long, his recorded birth weight was only 6lbs 9ounces which gave him the appearance of being a rather sickly newborn. Instantly worried for the life of their son, it wasn't until three different delivery specialists told the new parents that their son was indeed perfectly healthy that they even began to believe such a thing were possible. Had it not been for the ferocity with which he drank his first bottle, it would have been nearly impossible to Marilyn and Preston to believe that their son was in fact going to be fine. Brianna proved to be perfectly healthy as well, measured at 21 inches long and weighing 7lbs 9oz. The newborn twins were truly blessed to have Marilyn and Preston for their parents; or so it would seem.
The first few years of Benjamin's life passed rather uneventfully. With Preston and Marilyn feeling that their family was now complete with the arrival of Ben and Bria, it didn't take long for them to settle into to the lifestyle that came with having children. While Preston worked long hours at a law firm to provide for the family, Marilyn quickly decided that she didn't want to leave her children in the hands of a babysitter or daycare and so relinquished working to take on duties of a stay-at-home mother. Despite the fact that they were only living on one income, however, neither of the twins ever wanted for anything. This isn't to say that they were spoiled but the family was extremely comfortable and that was what mattered. Still, needs change over time and it wasn't long before their mother started craving something more...exciting. Risk and danger soon became all she could think about and it wasn't long before she found it in the form of a man by the name of Carlos Gonzalez.
Not wanting her affair to be immediately obvious as Carlos was a business associate of her husband's and well acquainted with both of her children, Marilyn was extremely careful when the two arranged their meetings; taking care to keep her absences from the home spaced apart so as to keep from arising any suspicion about what she was really doing behind Preston's back. That wasn't enough, however, as an accident involving Brianna breaking her arm when falling out of a tree forced Carlos to drive her to the hospital as her car had refused to start. Though he had already been suspicious of his friend's affiliation with his wife, the sight of them running into the emergency room together drove Preston over the edge. Less than a week later, he confronted his wife after work one evening and she admitted everything. Driven into a rage by the news, he grabbed a knife off the table before leaving and heading over to his former best friend's house where he planted it into Carlos' chest.
Though she was horrified when she learned what her husband had done, Marilyn couldn't bear the thought of her children growing up with the knowledge that their father was a murderer and so swore to Preston that she would never breathe a word of the affair or what he'd done because of it. Little did she know that would be the worst decision of her life. Two weeks later, on the night of the full moon, Preston was on his way home from a bar when the pains began. Unable to imagine what was happening to him, he stumbled into an alley where he screamed as his bones broke as a result of the curse upon his family; the curse of the werewolf. His mind consumed by the fever that overtook him in the night, it wasn't until he regained his human shape the next morning in his home that he'd realized what he'd done. Blood was everywhere, along with the shredded corpses of his wife and daughter. A scream of terror tore him from frozen state just then as a pain lanced through his racing heart.
Whirling around to where his 7-year-old son Benjamin was staring at him with wide eyes and a look of pure terror plain upon his face, it was in that moment that Preston finally understood. He had done this. Unable to deal with the knowledge that he was now responsible for the murders of both Marilyn and Brianna, he hurried to his desk where his pistol was and pulled it out before placing it in his mouth and pulling the trigger; ending his life as well and leaving yet another emotional scar upon his son; who was now an orphan. Ben was traumatized beyond all belief, as any human being would have been at witnessing such a horrendous event(the murders of his sister and mother along with the suicide of his father). Unable to cope with it all, he simply sank to the floor and whimpered; his terror not even allowing him the luxury to cry as he dared not make a sound for fear that some other monster might come looking for him too. It was because of this that no one found him until late that evening when one of his mother's friends who babysat occasionally came over to see if her services would be required.
Having witnessed everything that his father had done, the inhumane screams that had ripped from his mother and sister's throats as they had literally been torn apart; it was then that Benjamin lost all trust that he'd ever had in people. Instead of running to the older woman with glee as he usually would have done, the 7-year-old simply seemed to curl inwards on himself as he pushed himself even further into the corner than he'd been a moment earlier; horrified at the thought that she would hurt him as well. Not five minutes had passed since her arrival before the place was swarming with police as well as EMTs and an assortment of other law enforcement officials. Knowing by his reaction to them that they wouldn't be able to get Ben out of there without him reacting violently, they had no other choice but to sedate him and so he awoke several hours later in a room at the hospital. Despite their attempts to have him explain what had happened, Benjamin refused to say a word and it was there that the trail ran cold on what had happened in the Carrington house on the night of September 17, 1994.
Four years passed before he finally spoke again, before he even made an audible sound - apart from the screams that awoke him every night for the first two years after his trauma was inflicted. It wasn't much, a simple 'thank you', but it was a start and that's what counted according to the psychiatrists he'd been seeing. Having been declared sane after a number of tests that didn't require speech were performed on him, Benjamin had been placed in one of the state's orphanages as he had no other living family who was willing to take him into their homes. He wasn't by any means violent or a bad child; but the thought of having one who had seen so much around their old children was too terrifying for them to even consider and so he remained in the care of the state. Despite being bullied by those in the home that were bigger than him, Ben never instigated any fights on his own; choosing only to defend himself when it was absolutely necessary and staying up in his room as much as he could to avoid any possible arguments in which the blame might be placed on him.
It was at the age of 13 that he finally refused to attend any more therapy sessions; claiming for the first time that he didn't remember what had happened that night. It was a lie, of course, but as his dishonesty couldn't be proven they had no choice and so he was released from the mental health system just after his 14th birthday. Unable to wait until he was eighteen to be free of the legal system, Benjamin petitioned to be emancipated at the age of sixteen and his motion was granted as it was obvious by his maturity and intelligence that he could take care of himself. Getting out of town as quickly as possible, he moved upstate to the tiny town of Mystic Falls; praying that no one there would recognize his past by his name - or face for that matter as the latter had been shown on the news more than once in the months that had immediately followed his family's demise. Luck seemed to be on his side though, finally, as he was just another new kid in town. Opting to take online classes at home, he graduated with the highest honors possible at only 17. College hasn't even crossed his mind as of yet, and he currently lives alone in a shoebox apartment with a full-time job in the library and the hope that nothing close to what he saw as a child will ever cross his path again.

RP SAMPLE||Despite having grown up in a rather structured environment given the duties which came with handling a farm that she'd been required to fulfill on a daily basis, Alina had never been the type to handle orders well. It wasn't that she couldn't handle being told what to do but the idea was one that had always made her grind her teeth in irritation. Of course, the fact that it seemed Klaus found enjoyment in bossing her around and having her do the majority of his dirty work only made her intense dislike for the Original that much worse. Well, that and the fact that he'd completely torn her life apart with a single action. Before he'd turned her into the monster that she now was, a vampire to be exact, her life couldn't have been described as anything more than ordinary. Still, it was the life that she'd chosen and losing everything that she'd loved in a matter of hours definitely hadn't been the way to win her over. If anything, it had only served to make her even more irritable as the idea of being told what to do by the likes of him repulsed her to no end.
Not to mention he can kiss my ass if he thinks I'm going to keep letting him threaten Aidan's life every time I question his authority, she noted silently as she cradled the toddler to her chest, wanting to make sure he was indeed completely out before laying him down for the night as she was well aware of how Klaus wasn't a fan of his crying in the middle of the night. The bastard may have a claim on me but he better learn to leave my son out of this if he wants my cooperation. I don't care who the hell he thinks he is but threatening to murder a toddler because I don't listen is sick; even for him. It was only when Alina was content with the steady, deep breaths her son was inhaling that she brushed his forehead with her lips before laying Aidan down in the playpen they'd taken to hauling with them now that they were on the move. Covering him with the worn blue blanket that she'd managed to snag before they had left, she glanced out the window of the home they'd overtaken at the familiar shape of the full moon before wishing with all her heart that she and her son were anywhere but there.
Away from Klaus, she'd at least have a chance at a normal life; or however normal one's life could get when they were frozen at the age of 22 forever. That being said, Alina was also painfully aware of the fact that her life would never be the same again. Klaus had made sure of that the moment that he'd fed her his blood and then killed her; forcing on her transformation from human to immortal. This wasn't what she'd wanted but, nevertheless, life had dealt her this hand and she'd do what she could with it. Sneaking out of the room was no issue at all given the ease of her movements now and less than a second had passed before she was outside the bedroom and closing the door silently behind her. Having noticed Klaus in the library before she'd decided to put Aidan down for the night, she had no doubts that the hybrid would still be there and so quickly flitted back downstairs and into room with unusual ease. "So," she began without pretense, wincing visibly as she suddenly felt a sharp pain in her back that was gone almost as soon as it had arrived, "my father's obviously not here. What's next on the to-do list for your master plan?"
